How do you rate the Vice Presidential Debate?
October 2 - 9:45 PM
Regardless of which candidate you support, most would agree that both candidates were being closely watched for verbal gaffes or signficant errors - and few were found, similarly the first presidential debate. Who do you think prevailed?

Biden was the clear winner. Palin was all style and no substance.

ROFLOL. Agnew was Nixon's VP, until he was forced to resign in disgrace for accepting bribes from contractors when he was governor of Maryland.

Spiro who?

You folks can snipe all you want, but I am seriously undecided. Both candidates have serious flaws and reasonable qualifications. At the moment I'm noticing that an Alaskan judge has cleared the way for an investigation of Palin's firing practices as governor. The last thing we need is another Spiro Agnew.

You mean Joe Biden? He had already been in Washington for years before Commander McCain arrived on the scene. Yeah, that's a real change ticket.

If it's change you want, Obama should be your man! Why would anyone exchange changes from a guy who has been in Washington for decades?

In a democracy there is no such thing as a wasted vote. It's way better than not voting at all. Why does the greatest democracy in the world have one of the lowest voter participation rates in the world? Could it be because most voters think that it won't do any good to try to change thing?

Feel free to waste your vote. I love it that you aren't voting for McCain.

I'm taking a hard look at Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate that Ron Paul recently endorsed. The bailout is totally unconstitutional because Congress does not have the authority to delegate that kind of power to anyone, but particularly an official who is not even mentioned in the Constitution. Republicans and Democrats alike in Congress, the White House, and Supreme Court seem to have completely abandoned Constutitional principles. They invoke it when it is a convenient political tactic, but otherwise they act like it doesn't exist at all.

Does that mean you are supporting a third party candidate? If so, which one? I'm glad Obama is taking a responsible stand, especially with McCain acting so erratically, but I am uncomfortable that he is marching in lock-step with Wall Street. I hope he doesn't think he has to prove something to those people.

I didn't think the debate was funny at all. I find it distressing how much they agree on major issues that do not invite agreement - like the socialist bailout of Wall Street, spending money in proportions they would not dare advocate for average Americans. I have yet to hear any of the four Pres/VP candidates talk about how the bailout will help, and or how it will prevent a reoccurance of the problem.

Alright, folks, fun is fun, but does anyone have anything substantive to say about the issues they discussed?

That might seem unfair to some, but if Biden used his own hot air for the wind power, she would be outmatched.

If it's going to be Home Depot, how about chain saws? That would be a lot more entertaining. Palin could use a gas-powered chain saw and Biden could use a wind-powered chain saw.

Good question! Let's put them in REAL contest: a shootin' match on Biden's home turf, the parking lot of Home Depot.

Are you kidding? Palin kicked Biden's butt. All he could do was repeat Obama's platitudes. If he really believed them, why did he run against Obama in the first place?

Palin was her usual fake-folksy self. There's nothing folksy or Main Street about a governor who worked up a $1.2 million estate while in office.
